Find out exactly what our Developers are capable of..

From Virtual Reality to Applications and Bespoke Platforms, our in-house developers have been busy as of late and have been showcasing exactly what sort of things they can develop, after utilising their expertise to develop some great stuff for customers and manufacturers alike!

Where do we start?

Well our team of in house developers have developed plenty of apps down the line, starting with our very own Bimstore Eye. This is our augmented reality viewer, which allows architects, designers and specifiers to view construction manufacturers content from bimstore in 3D and Augmented Reality. All by simply pointing your camera at the manufacturers brochure, image of literature and watch that product pop to life in 3D! Pretty cool don’t you think?

Another Augmented Reality app for Travis Perkins is the Bimwarehouse Eye, this application works with 2D Tracker images which are provided within the Travis Perkins product brochure catalogue and allows you to view 3D BIM objects and allows you to view the data sheets for the visible objects!

Our Augmented Reality applications have also proven popular with big manufacturers such as Speedy BIM and Ideal Commercial Eye, who have both had an AR branded app to show their collection of content which is available to download on bimstore!

Our team has also worked with some other major manufacturers, developing an application for the Staircraft Group. This app is designed to aid the installation process on site, containing a QR code scanner allows you to scan the codes printed on the individual components and view an interactive 3D installation diagram and fitting instructions.

Other than AR and 3D applications, our development team have creating some applications for some great initiatives. Iridis, created in partnership with University of Stirling, has been developed to replace the Dementia Services Design Centres' Audit Toolkit which was currently held in a large lever arch file. Used to get general information about creating spaces for someone living with dementia, and to check how well suited your space is for someone living with dementia.

Our team has also developed our very own digital specifiers product library! Specifi allows specifiers to search, read and Specifi products whilst using their mobile device. A library filled with product brochures, technical data sheets, installation guides and maintenance information, all of which can be searched, read or even added to a project folder for reading later.

Our development team wouldn’t truly be a part of bimstore without an element of fun now would they? Over the festive period in 2017 our team created the Bimstore Christmas Cow game, a fast paced arcade game where you race through different landscapes and collect BIMboxes! Something to get the kids involved on and inspire them into an industry!

I’m sure the team will have something up their sleeve for another Arcade Game soon, but they are a busy bunch as they are currently developing a Quality Assurance app for Metsec to be used when inspecting installations and ensuring each product specified has been installed correctly!

If you are interested in any development opportunities, our team are always on hand to take any enquires and create you an application to benefit you or your business!

Changing Radiators? Why would you do that?

Posted 02.05.2024

Whilst radiators are being installed on a daily basis in new build homes up and down the country, the majority of radiators purchased are installed in existing homes because their owners have decided to upgrade their homes and their heating systems. And there are a host of reasons why they might do that – from needing to, to doing so because they can!
