Description

The HIU is a complete package comprising of all components mounted on a frame, factory assembled and tested.

All Herz HIUs incorporate a first Fix rail with isolation ball valves to allow shell and core pipework to be completed without the HIU being fitted, this also aids maintenance once the unit is installed. First fix rail ball valves are fitted with drain valves to facilitate draining with integral test points fitted on the primary and secondary heating circuits on most units.

DescriptionThe Herz Caledonia Heat Interface Unit (HIU) provides domestic hot water and space heating to properties that are serviced from district heating or central boiler plants. The HIU comprises of one heat exchanger for the DHW providing instant hot water at a safe regulated temperature. The HIU is direct so the property space heating is supplied directly from the primary heating circuit via the HIU.

FeaturesProvides domestic hot water and space heating to properties. Hydraulic separation for the DHW only with a single heat exchanger. Continuous primary heating flow enables an unlimited supply of domestic hot water when required Differential Pressure control valve fitted over the primary flow and return within the unit to protect the HIU from high system pressure and to regulate flowrate. Differential Pressure control/zone valve fitted over the secondary flow and return within the unit to protect the space heating circuit from high system pressure. Thermostatic temperature control regulates the hot water temperature. Pressure Temperature Control Valve allows the DHW heat exchanger to operate on demand only. Hot water priority valve maximises the temperature at the DHW heat exchanger “Summer Bypass” to maintain a minimum primary supply temperature when the space heating is not in use. Minimised risk of lime scale formation and legionella bacteria. Low return temperature in the primary maximises efficiency in the system. Optional heat meter with pulse output, wireless operation or M Bus output. Optional MCW booster pump. Easy to install with minimal installation space required Option available for top entry. Drain valves fitted to ball valves to facilitate easy draining for maintenance. All water services to the apartment can be isolated at one point within the HIU
