How bimstore is pioneering digital construction

Although it might seem like a fairly new concept, BIM has been around for many decades.

When bimstore was founded just over ten years ago, the construction industry began to sit up and take notice of the impact it could have. Since the turn of the century, we have entered a truly digital era.

bimstore are proud to have been at the forefront of digital construction since our inception over ten years ago. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and we are excited to see what the next ten years of innovation can bring.

When we launched bimstore in 2011 we were the first BIM library in all of Europe and one of only a handful from across the world at the time, born out of relentless curiosity and love of new ideas. The idea was developed as our SPACE Architects team needed a library of high-quality families to use in their projects and we quickly realised that we were onto a game-changer.

What makes bimstore unique is that we are users too and always put quality first. We have a simple test for everything we do – would we choose to use it ourselves?

We have built a fast-growing community of like-minded individuals who all share the same passion and that is something we are very proud of.

We pride ourselves on our ability to innovate and provide our hundreds of thousands of users with the tools to help them in their roles whether their profession is an architect, designer, engineer or specifier.

We are primarily a platform for the distribution and management of BIM content and manufacturer product data; however, we are also so much more than that. We have an extremely powerful API that allows you to build something awesome with bimstore, one of which is empowering our manufacturers to host their BIM content on their own website.

Partnerships are one of our key differentiators. We love working with organisations that share our vision of digitising the construction industry and making buildings smarter. Some of which include Bentley Systems, Autodesk and Unifi. We also host BIM libraries for many high-profile clients such as Barratt PLC, Lidl, Galliford Try and Travis Perkins via our Node platform, a cloud-based private information portal.

We have created our very own augmented reality app called bimstore Eye and recently launched a free plug-in for Revit. We have even developed our own built-in marketing platform that allows manufacturers to build targeted campaigns and sponsored search results.

We are a bunch of people passionate about the possibilities of BIM and have learned a lot along the way. Keep your eyes peeled as we have plenty of ideas and will never stop pushing what is possible.

Changing Radiators? Why would you do that?
