As an early adopter of BIM with their sister brand, Big Foot Systems leading the way, Aspen Pumps decided to take on BIM themselves, creating their own catalogue of objects for a range of condensate pumps.
Founded in 1992, three engineers believed that there was a gap in the market for condensate removal where methods lacked the needs of installers. From this, today Aspen is a leading and innovative brand which has allowed the company to go from strength to strength, now supplying to over 80 countries worldwide.
As a global company, we were well aware of the benefits of BIM since its use has become mandatory in public or larger construction projects in a number of countries.
"With BIM files becoming increasingly popular with architects, consultants and specifiers in the UK, we wanted to lead the way by ensuring our range of products was available for use with Building Modelling."
The use of BIM is a big leap for any manufacturer, regardless of size. But it's the outcome of the investment that makes it worth while, as Aspen Pumps tell us: "In our first phase of BIM products, we focused on our larger, commercial, condensate pumps.
"These products rapidly remove large quantities of condensate water and are ideal for air handling units (with pumps for both cooling and heating applications) and humidifiers. The first products on bimstore include our Heavy Duty 6 or 10 condensate pumps and our Hot Water Heavy Duty Pumps.
"BIM has meant that we are able to facilitate the speicifcation of our product on projects from a standard library of files.
"By using BIM, designers can also see snags during the design stage where options can be easily changed rather than picking up conflicts on site at which point solutions can prove costly. BIM also offers building owners clarity."
Alongside this, the visibility amongst specifiers that Aspen Pumps has received is key to their belief in using bimstore. With over 37,000 views worldwide the exposure is everlasting.
