We’re taking a look back at the past 12 months at bimstore!

We started off the New Year with a new manufacturer, Dortek, joining the bimstore ranks. New bimvids were produced for Durapipe and Lafarge and new content went live for Jaga and Hamworthy Heating. January was also the month we launched our new Augmented Reality App, bimstoreEye – available to download for free via the iTunes store now!

February saw the release of the results of the BIM4M2 BIM adoption survey which revealed that bimstore is the most popular source for BIM objects for manufacturers - great news for us! We also introducedLubrizol as our latest manufacturer and pushed out new content for Bailey, AluK and Spirax Sarco.

Along came March with more new content for Bailey and Cubicle Centre as well as a new bimvid for Kawneer. We also launched a competition to give away tickets for BIM Show Live 2015 (watch this space for BSL2016 announcements in the New Year!)

Alongside BSL2015, in April we were pretty busy with content for Noberne, Hamworthy Heating and Bailey with more new manufacturers in the form of Reliance Water Controls and Moduflex. We also had more bimvids go live for Profile22 and Spectus Window Systems. April was also the month that ‘the hus that bimstore built’ Spacehus was featured in The Guardian and our very own Space Group Rob shared his insight into why we support manufacturer content here at bimstore.

In May we let you all know where you could find us on social media (now with added Facebook!), a new bimvid for Lloyd Worrall went live and Orangebox launched their own fantastic BIM video. We hosted a client update at our Newcastle HQ to let our manufacturers know what we have planned for the future and we also welcomed David Clouting and Flexiform into the fold. New content went live for AluK, Forbo, Cubicle Centre and Fabricated Products whilst Mabey Hire covered bimstore very positively in an article about BIM for temporary works on the NCE website.

BSL4M was held in June 2015 and featured a fantastic presentation from Jan Shepherd, Global Brand Director of GROHE, as well as some daring live demos. We announced two new manufacturers, BLÜCHER and CP Electronics and released new content for Moduflex,S&P Coils and Flexiform. June was also the month we announced our sponsorship of RTC Building Content Summit and our plans to exhibit at Autodesk University!

In July we introduced you to the second of our apps to be launched in 2015, Specifi, the tech equivalent of a specifiers product information library. It was also the month we travelled to the US to sponsor the RTC Building Content Summit and launched bimstore.us – our dedicated US platform. Karndean Designflooring and Premier Loft Ladders joined us while Ideal Boilers and Dortek expanded their BIM offering on bimstore.

bimstore’s marketing coordinator Joanna was interviewed by BIMcrunch in August as was manufacturer Flexiform. Timloc Building Products joined bimstore and a new bimvid went live for Karndean Designflooring. We also published new content for Michelmersh Brick Holdings, AluK and Flexiform Office Furniture. v13 of our bimbible went live and Space Group Rob discussed standards and certification. Oh and we announced a little party...

In September we were joined by BOSCH Commercial and Industrial Heating, we released v1 of our US bimbible and Adam Thomas, our US partner, shared his thoughts on the RTC Building Content Summit. Other big news this month was our sponsorship of The B1M Mail which delved into the background of bimstore and we announced our new series of webinars – BIM in Action.

The first Digital Construction Show was held in October and Ermintrude polished her hooves and went off to London for the inaugural event. It was a bumper month for content with Dortek, Flexiform, GROHE and Altro expanding their ranges as well as BOSCH also increasing their BIM offering for the first PDT-complaint boiler objects! We also welcomed CPM Group and Triton Systems to bimstore!

November saw three new manufacturers joining the UK’s original BIM library – BIM objects went live for Legrand, Herz Valves and All About Bricks. It was also the month when we were gearing up to head out to the US for Autodesk University and there was much excitement as the invitations for the bimstore party were sent out in the form of Willy Wonka style golden tickets!

Before we knew it, December was upon us, with no sign of slowing down! At the start of the month we were in Vegas inviting people to #GrabOurBalls and we also hosted the bimstore party (you can read Olly’s blog post about it here). All the official photos from both events also went online. Three new manufacturers went live – ACV, Breathing Buildings and Myson – and new content was released for Legrand, Tarmac, Technal, Altro and Zehnder. Our Augmented Reality app bimstoreEye received an update and manufacturer Flexiform released a BIM video which included a very special cameo!
