Introducing the updated range of XT Aluminium Stair Edgings

Contract interiors specialist Gradus has updated its market leading XT range of aluminium stair edgings and you can find the updated BIM models right here.

The new range retains all the existing benefits of XT with the addition of new features that offer improved performance when used in areas where more intensive cleaning is required e.g. healthcare & education applications.

The Gradus XT range of stair edgings, suitable for use with both resilient flooring and carpets, offers the ultimate solution in reducing slips, trips and falls on stairs and supports the recommendations in the latest building legislation and standards

.

The new XT aluminium profiles now feature a unique locking mechanism that secures the slip-resistant insert in place on both the tread and riser. This removes the need for an adhesive bond between the insert and channel and increases the resistance to moisture ingress, making the profiles ideal for use in areas subject to more frequent cleaning e.g. healthcare and education environments.

As outlined in Approved Document M a minimum tread of 280mm is required so stair edgings should incorporate slip resistant material that extends round the leading edge of the step. The XT range features an extended insert design that wraps around the leading edge to ensure that foot contact is always made with the slip-resistant element, providing maximum safety underfoot and minimising the risk of slip.

The new Gradus XT Aluminium range contains 24 nosing types in one simple download and is available on bimstore now
