Hamworthy Heating is a leading British commercial boiler manufacturer and supplier of heating and hot water products based in Dorset. With decades of commercial heating experience behind them, they are experts at ecologically efficient heating, hot water and renewable energy solutions, and work with consultants, specifiers and contractors across the building services sector.

As a forward-thinking manufacturer, Hamworthy Heatinglikes to stay ahead of their competitors, and together with the announcement of the Governments Construction Strategy for 2016, this drove them to becoming one of the first boiler manufacturers to offer BIM objects back in 2012. Hamworthy Heating pride themselves on being a ‘one-stop’ shop and having their BIM content created has enabled them to provide their customers with everything they need to help specify and design with their products.

It was about the knowledge of the people we spoke to at bimstore. It wasn’t just a salesperson selling the concept, everyone we dealt with really understood BIM “ Samantha Boshier, Senior Marketing Executive

When it came to selecting a partner to create and host their BIM objects, research was carried out into the process of content creation. Ultimately the decision to partner with bimstore was based on the extensive knowledge and experience of the content creators. This coupled with the teams first-hand experience of using models due to their background as specifiers meant bimstore was the ideal choice for Hamworthy Heating!

They chose to start their BIM journey with their newest range of boilers – the Fleet, a complicated range with over 47 models. After prioritising their products, Fleet was quickly followed by two more of their popular boiler ranges, Purewell VariHeatand Wessex ModuMax, along with a condensing water heater. Such is the success of their BIM objects, more ancillary equipment and further hot water products are in the pipeline.

The complexities of their boiler configurations and pipe kits means it was crucial that the bimstore team got to know the products inside out. Maintaining consistency during the content creation process is something that Hamworthy Heating believes has aided the process and has helped to ensure that all models are of the same high quality. Feedback received to date has been overwhelmingly positive and their customers have been impressed with the quality of the objects, as well as the speed in which bimstore have been able to respond to customer queries and requests. leads on potential projects and give potential clients a more tailored experience.
